On April 11, the State Duma adopted a law banning the sale of vaporizers to minors and tightened the rules for displaying devices in stores and producing flavored products. This was reported on the website of the lower house of parliament.
What the document prohibits:
- retail sale of vaporizers and their components at fairs and exhibitions, remotely and through vending machines, as well as “through the delivery and peddling trade”;
- production and circulation of nicotine-containing products with flavors and additives. This is supposed to reduce the appeal of vaporizers to minors;
- open exhibition and demonstration of devices in stores.
State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said that it is also planned to “make changes to tax legislation, which will make vaporizers in principle inaccessible.”
