The source believes the merger between Twitter and X Corp was planned by Musk in April 2022 before he bought Twitter. He later registered three companies – X Holdings I, II and III. Twitter then merged with X Holdings II, keeping its name and structure. X Holdings I was Twitter’s parent company, while X Holdings III received a loan for the purchase.

In March 2023, Musk registered two more companies: X Holdings Corp and X Corp. A week later, he filed for a merger of all his companies. As a result, Twitter Inc. ceased to exist as a company and became part of X Corp.

According to experts, Musk wants to make Twitter part of the X super app, which will compete with Chinese WeChat.
