Major Russian operators ask subscribers to match adequate personal data.
Since the beginning of April, they have been sending SIM-cards and SMS to cardholders with the discovery of personal data in mobile stores or through public services.
This is because Roskomnadzor can check personal connection data for active gray SIM cards. To do this, the department has a system that automatically issues false information about customer transactions.
If a discrepancy is found in the information, the operator pays “to clarify or terminate the provision of the service to the subscriber.”
In Russia, there are now up to 20 million active subscribers with unconfirmed data. [Коммерсантъ]
