Alexey Sapon, Ozon’s director of CIS operations, announced the emergence of a regional market in Kyrgyzstan. The launch of the project is planned for 2023.

Ozon.kg marketplace to open in Kyrgyzstan

The head of the company spoke about this at the COM.E ON conference in Bishkek, reports Interfax. According to Sapon, the Ozon logistics center near the country’s capital will be inaugurated in May.

The center will be located on the territory of the largest Kyrgyz wholesale market, Dordoi, with a turnover of $4 billion per year. The company plans to help entrepreneurs start online sales: posting photos of sellers’ products in the online store, labeling and packing in orders.

The Ozon.kg marketplace will be registered in Kyrgyzstan and operations will be conducted in soms.

“In the near future, together with the opening of a local site, we plan to strengthen and open the infrastructure here, open collection points, both our own and partners,” Sapon said.

In June, the company will open a support center for entrepreneurs. Ozon.kg products are also planned to be sold in Kazakhstan and Belarus.

Kyrgyzstan became the third CIS country with an Ozon regional office. Since 2021, the company has been developing business in Belarus and Kazakhstan.
