In the first three months of 2023, sales of potency-enhancing products increased by almost 40% compared to the same period in 2022. During this time, the Russians bought more than 2.7 million packages of drugs worth almost 1.8 billion rubles.
On average, there were 392 packages of those drugs for every 1,000 adult men living in Russia in the first quarter of 2023, according to a study by Chestny Znak, reviewed by Izvestia.
In most cases, these drugs were purchased by residents of the Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar Territory, Magadan Region and Moscow.
Doctors attribute the growing interest in these drugs to stress, post-COVID syndrome and an unhealthy lifestyle.
- The largest sales in monetary terms in the 18+ category in Russian markets in 2022 were from Penguin, a stimulant for women. The turnover from its sale in Ozon amounted to 69.3 million rubles, in Wildberries – 49.7 million rubles.
