Video of the explosion was recorded live on the company’s YouTube channel, while CEO Elon Musk watched the launch from mission control.
The failure occurred during the separation of the first stage of the rocket at an altitude of 38 km. As not all thrusters were working properly, the spacecraft began to spin uncontrollably.
SpaceX representatives said they plan to continue working on the Starship project after analyzing the event data.
Recall that the launch of the rocket was made from a special cosmodrome in the United States. After the first launch on April 18 was canceled a few seconds before the start, a successful start was given in the second attempt. Then Elon Musk announced the cancellation of the launch with frozen pressure valves.
