A recent study involved 23 elderly people with hypertension. All of these people had been on blood pressure medication for at least four months. Participants exercised on a stationary bike three times a week for 10 weeks.
One group of participants trained simultaneously from 7 am to 10 am and the other from 17 to 20 hours.
The scientists found that diastolic pressure was the same in both groups. At the same time, systolic blood pressure fell only after evening sports. In addition, the improved response of the nervous system to changes in blood pressure was associated with a greater improvement in blood pressure readings from evening exercise.
