During extreme heat, most heart attacks occur, as the heat increases the load on the cardiovascular system.

The researchers also found that during minimal activity in a warm, humid environment, the workload on the heart increases when the temperature reaches 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 degrees Celsius) and the relative humidity is 65%. But the core temperature of the human body has already risen to 95 degrees Fahrenheit and the relative humidity to 73%.

During slow walking in the same environmental conditions, the load on the cardiovascular system increased at 95 degrees Fahrenheit and 52% RH, and body temperature increased at 95 degrees Fahrenheit and 58% RH.

In hot, dry conditions, when the temperature rises above 113 degrees Fahrenheit (45 degrees Celsius) and 19% RH, core body temperature – 118 degrees Fahrenheit (48 degrees Celsius) and 17% humidity (if activity was minimal). During slow walking under the same conditions, the load on the heart increased at 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius) and 25% RH, and the internal temperature increased at 109 degrees (43 degrees Celsius) and 22% RH.
