The machine is equipped with a built-in freezer for storing food and a heater for making meatballs on demand.

Meatballs are precooked and then frozen with oil and seasonings, which reduces the amount of work the machine requires. According to Frolov, the payback period for a Pel-Semen vending machine is only one year, based on a net cost of 120 rubles per serving and a suggested selling price of 249 rubles.

Frolov states that he was inspired by a personal experience when he had to rush to the cafeteria for a quick lunch to create the Pel-Semen machine.
