OpenAI has not yet registered the GPT trademark in the US. The US Patent and Trademark Office refused the OpenAI order in an expedited manner, because the company did not provide all the documents and did not waive the fee.

At the same time, other US companies have already applied for registration of the ThreatGPT, MedicalGPT, DateGPT and DirtyGPT brands, which are not related to OpenAI.

“GPT” could soon become a trademark if OpenAI gets its way

ThreatGPT, MedicalGPT, DateGPT, and DirtyGPT are just a few of the many companies that have filed trademark applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office in recent months; OpenAI would like them to stop.
