Privacy 1st researcher Alex Kleber reported that dozens of applications appeared in the Mac App Store that mimic the operation of ChatGPT.

The “shadow” floods are covering Mac App Store apps that are almost there already, to confuse consumers and cut off other coverage, he said. They use the usual interface, stolen OpenAI logo and popular words for search results.

For example, two app developers, Pixelsbay and ParallelWorld, have the same food products in use, and the apps share 99% of the same code. They have the corresponding interface and the same paywall, there is no way to exit the final paywall window without restarting the program. These programs require a lot of money to “work”.

The Mac App Store does have apps that run on ChatGPT. However, in most cases, these are fakes and scams.

Kleber supplies Apple is engaged in more accessible moderation in the App Store to get rid of the created fraudulent programs.
