2024 has arrived and many people are already organizing the holidays of the year, for this they often review different holidays, because this way they manage to have more days of rest without having to request holidays from their work.
The bad news is that there will be fewer holidays this year compared to 2023, when there will be 20 holidays in total. There will be only 18 holidays this year. But, There is a perfect week to request a holiday because you will only need to work 2 days during the holidays.
This is Holy Week, which runs from Sunday, March 24th to March 31st. But the peculiarity of this is that in addition to Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, there will also be a holiday on Monday the 25th, which is the day of the commemoration of St. Joseph.
On the other hand, Law No. 51 of 1983 or the Emiliani Law states that “all employees, both in the public and private sectors, have the right to paid rest on public or religious holidays.” However, if they have to work on those days, they must receive 75% additional compensation for the holidays and Sundays they work, according to the Material Labor Law.

It is worth noting that this year there are three months without holidays: February, April and September. The most holidays are in March, when Easter is celebrated. There will also be a few days of rest in June, July, August and November.
