The line of domestic electric cars “Atom” will be analogues of BMW i3, Mini Cooper and Lada Largus, Kommersant found out. Conveyor production is scheduled to start at the end of 2024.
Cars will be produced, including for the CIS and Chinese markets. It is expected to produce up to 75 thousand pieces per year. According to the publication, the power plant of the new electric vehicle is being handled by the Rosatom structures. Renera and Rusatom RDS announced a tender for the creation of power systems for an electric vehicle and battery integration (Kama JSC project by Sergey Kogogin and Ruben Vardanyan). Kama, for his part, has already signed a contract for similar purposes with Nanjing University.
The domestic electric car “Atom”, according to the specifications, will be presented in four versions: a five-seater Family (VW id3, BMW i3, Honda e/Neta U), a four-seater Taxi (VW id3, BYD D1 ), Duo two-seater (VW id3, BMW i3 and Mini Cooper), and Delivery single-seater (Lada Largus, Peugeot Partner and Citroen Berlingo).
The range on one charge will be 500 km. For delivery and taxi models, speed characteristics of up to 130 km/h and up to 170 km/h are provided for other models. All cars will be equipped with front-wheel drive.
It is planned to launch the production of transporters in December 2024. Of the 75 thousand cars per year, 49.1 thousand will be for Family and 15 thousand for Delivery. Duo and Taxi will be produced for 4.3 thousand pieces and 6.6 thousand pieces respectively.
Atom electric vehicles will be sold not only in the domestic market, but also in the CIS countries, as well as in China.
Rusatom RDS also announced a tender for the integration of an electric motor into a car with an initial cost of 148.5 million rubles. The basis of the work is the agreement between Kama and Rusatom RDS dated November 15, 2022. Payment, according to the contract, is made in yuan.
In turn, Renera is building a gigafactory for the production of batteries in Kaliningrad. Delivery must be made to the factory in China, JSC “Kama” is indicated as the final recipient. Rener did not specify why the delivery is being made to China.
