The leader of the Duma faction “Fair Russia – For the Truth” Sergei Mironov asked the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov to check the work of Sberbank for compliance with the law. The deputy has complaints about the content generated by the Kandinsky 2.1 neural network.
Sber presented the third model of its neural network on April 4. The company said that Kandinsky 2.1. you can create high-quality images in seconds from a natural language text description.
Sergei Mironov said that the neural network, answering questions about Russia, allegedly forms its negative image. At the same time, when asked about “unsympathetic” countries, Kandinsky 2.1 gave answers mostly positively.
“In particular, for requests with the word “Russian”, “Russia”, “Russians” and even “Russian flag”, “Russian Federation flag” – an image in the colors of the Russian Federation flag, consisting in three stripes, it was never generated. At the same time, when applying for “the flag of Ukraine” and “the flag of America”, the images fully correspond to the colors and design of the flags of these countries, ”says the letter from Mironov to Krasnov, who is at the disposal of TASS.
Mironov also noted that the neural network produces images in the colors of the predominantly Ukrainian flag on requests “Donbass is Russia” or “I love Donbass.”
Based on this, Mironov admits that Sberbank used the developments of “unsympathetic” countries when creating its neural network. According to the politician, Kandinsky is also used by children, for example, schoolchildren. Thus, he fears the politician, the minors will form a “negative perception of their country.”
