While the Basic Ally is only $70 more expensive than the Steam Deck with the same amount of memory, it has a number of advantages, such as a Full HD display with a frame rate of 120 Hz.
The Ally GPU is based on the RDNA3 architecture with 8 processing units and a higher frequency of 2.7GHz compared to the RDNA2 Steam Deck architecture at 1.6GHz.
The base version of Ally has AMD Ryzen Z1 with 6 cores up to 5.0 GHz and 4 cores up to 3.5 GHz. You can also connect an external graphics card to the Ally via the ROG XG Mobile station.
Other highlights include an IPS display protected by Gorilla Glass DXC and 0-50% charging in just 30 minutes using the included 65-watt USB-C power bank.
