Windows 12: Microsoft is working on its own chip to compete with Apple

Microsoft is getting into a silicon chip business of its own. Big tech working on custom processors after Apple hits with M Seriesoutperforms its competitors.

Windows 12 should be optimized to work with hardware and increase battery life. The operating system will launch in 2024, with features that will take advantage of the custom chip, especially in features using artificial intelligence (AI).

Microsoft’s efforts were noted by the website Latest Windows. The company has opened quite a few vacancies in the industryannounced in April, with opportunities for systems-on-chip architect and design engineer, for example.

Hired employees will join the Microsoft Silicon Team. The company says they will be “at the forefront of computing” as well as working with “cross-functional groups” to deliver “innovative, high-performance silicon SOCs.”
