Intel changes the name of its popular Core i series processors. Following the leak of the new Core Ultra 5 1003H CPU on benchmark platforms, the manufacturer has confirmed the change in the title of future chips.
“We are rebranding as we are at a juncture in our customer roadmap as we prepare for the launch of the upcoming Meteor Lake processors,” Bernand Fernandes, Intel’s global communications director, said on Twitter.
Yes, we are making brand changes as we are at a crossroads in our customer roadmap. #MeteorLake processors. We’ll be providing more details on these exciting changes in the coming weeks! #Intel

Fernandes also said: More details on Intel’s “exciting changes” in naming will be announced in the coming weeks.. But the leaks are likely to have contributed to the executive’s verification of the information.
Simplifying CPU lines
Seems like, The CPU manufacturer should change the title of serial products from “Core i” to “Core” only.. For example, future models should simply be christened “Core 5” instead of the traditional “Core i5” name.
But, The ‘Ultra’ naming seen in the latest leak is still nobody’s guess. It’s unclear whether the title will only apply to laptop CPUs, desktop CPUs, or both.
Intel also plans to refresh its Raptor Lake CPUs in late 2023. Next-gen processors should also adopt the new naming structure, though industry sources state that not all models will have the “Ultra” title in the brand name.
Intel seems to be following in the footsteps of rival AMDadopting new terminologies for CPUs in 2023. The changes have helped the company separate the simpler models from the more advanced ones and highlight certain chip lines. “Core i” processors, on the other hand, is a widely consolidated brand of Intel.
