Sandflies that fly around houseplants are sciarids. In another way they are called mushroom mosquitoes. The soapy solution prepared with dishwashing liquid will also help destroy the sandfly larvae. It should be applied to the plant itself and to the substrate.
After eliminating the larvae in the soil, consider getting rid of the flies still flying around the plants. To do this, you have to make a trap. You can make it from duct tape (the yellow color attracts bugs), olive oil, honey, vinegar, cider (midges love all these scents). You can also try and scare away midges with the scent of lemon, clove, and essential oil.
