Sony Group was the first company among major studios to suspend cooperation with screenwriters, explaining its decision after hired experts failed to meet contractual obligations.
But the situation will not be easy: both Sony and other companies doing the same will be able to save on salaries and change the terms of contracts signed from 2016 to 2021, when the film industry exploded.
