VK is developing its own dating app, similar to Tinder. It can be released in the summer of 2023. To register for it, you do not need an account on VKontakte, Vedomosti learned.
Now VKontakte already has the VK Dating service. It appeared two years ago – it opens in a separate tab and is integrated into the catalog of services “Health”, “Women’s Diary”, “Weather”, “Check”, “Calls”, etc.
VK Dating is popular only at the level of an internal service, so creating a separate application seems more logical, said Denis Kuskov, director of Telecom Daily.
According to him, with the correct positioning and convenience of the application in terms of profile placement, appointments, payments, etc., his audience will be able to at least double the audience of VK Dating and get closer to 50 million users.
- In early May 2023, Match Group, which specializes in dating services including Tinder, announced its withdrawal from Russia until June 30. The restrictions for residents of Russia began in April, when the company disabled access to paid options.
- Previously, Tinder launched video user verification. After the selfie video, the user is given a check mark to confirm the authenticity of the account.
