Instead of accessing the account, players saw an error message stating that the service was not available in their region. Some users have managed to fix the problem by changing their DNS settings, but many are still unable to log into their profiles.

It is worth noting that the problem arose against the background of the departure of Xbox owner Microsoft from Russia in March last year. The company said it has suspended new sales but will continue to honor its current commitments to Russian customers.

Microsoft has also temporarily suspended Xbox warranty service in Russia and removed Russian servers responsible for speeding up content downloads.

It is not yet clear whether the crash is related to Microsoft’s actions or a random issue. But Xbox users in Russia continue to look for ways to bypass restrictions and log into their accounts.

update: Denis Rusakov, one of the editors of Ferra.ru, a well-known gaming blogger on YouTube, discovered that using an Xbox console purchased abroad can cause problems logging into your account. Tried to use an Xbox Series S purchased in Poland but couldn’t sign in to his profile. At the same time, PCT Xbox Series X works normally. Both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
