Nearly 500 patients with long-term chronic back pain noticed a significant reduction in pain and related performance problems. The therapeutic effect lasted for up to one year after the termination of the experimental treatment.

A program called Cognitive Functional Therapy (CFT) has helped reduce medical costs and increase work productivity.

As part of the CPT, participants underwent individual intensive sessions with psychologists who helped them understand the causes of pain, shift their attention to other aspects of life, and learn how to act in ways that reduce pain.

It is reported that this approach enables patients to become more confident in their movements and overcome their fears or avoid certain movements. It is also known that the treatment is applied by 18 specially trained physiotherapists in 20 clinics.

The program included up to seven sessions over a 12-week period, followed by a repeat session six months later. Patients then filled out questionnaires for one year. More than 80% of the participants stated that they were satisfied with the results of the treatment.
