Scientists from the Perm National Research Polytechnic Institute have announced the development of a new protective coating with anti-shock properties, Ami, designed to be applied to aircraft parts based on composite materials. The development of resistance with a protective layer with a low mass, capable of withstanding temperatures in the range from -60 ° C to quite serious 250 ° C.

As is known, in the aircraft industry polycomposites are used in the manufacture of a number of parts, there is no data on materials, they react poorly to high-speed shock loads (for example, a collision with flying birds), in terms of developing scientific solutions to the Permian need to solve the problem.

The basis of the proposed special coating is derivatives of ammonia, as well as isocyanate, on the basis of which polyurethanes are produced. The thickness of the developed coating does not exceed 0.3 mm, and its application to the surface of aircraft elements does not lead to weighting of the entire structure.

Russia has developed a special coating for composites

In addition, the first tests have already been carried out for coating aircraft engine housings made of compo. In fact, the total weight decreased by 18.5%, by more than 18.5%, the weight increased by a residually acceptable 6.5%.

According to the Perm NIPU, the development can be used not only in aviation – it is suitable for use in other areas – these surfaces can be processed with windshields and bodies of automotive equipment, car bodies and bad cats and etc.
