Apple smartphones have become the most popular smartphone brand among students of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MGIMO), Lomonosov Moscow State University (MGU) and Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University). This is evidenced by the analysis of the depersonalized data of MTS PJSC subscribers available on Ferra.ru in April this year.

The share of owners of Apple smartphones in Moscow State University is 66%, in MGIMO – 64%. iPhone 11 became the most popular model in both universities. Among the 10 most popular models there is only one that is not from an American company – Xiaomi is in last place Redmi Note 10 MGIMO. Two-thirds of these devices are Apple’s most expensive model, the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

While MSU students spend about 38 hours online per month, MGIMO students only spend about 15 hours online. At the same time, if at MGIMO both girls and boys use mobile Internet for approximately the same time, then at Moscow State University female representatives are online more often than men – 35 hours versus 37 hours.
