However, the situation has changed and Finland, on the contrary, has started to import garbage from abroad to meet its energy needs. Kalle Patomeri, commercial manager of Vantaan Energia, explained that Finland currently does not have enough domestic waste to run its plants at full capacity, and as a result, about a quarter of the fuel is replaced by foreign alternatives, mostly Italian.
