Fujifilm launched the new Instax Mini 12, a feature-packed instant camera, this Monday (8) in Brazil. A newcomer to the range, the company promises advanced features and a better photography experience.
A Instax Mini 12 looks a lot like previous model in terms of design, but it has a more rectangular and less wide body, which makes it easier to use. It also brings with it new colors such as ivory white, candy blue and bright pink, as well as candy lilac and mint green.
The newly launched device brings A new lens structure that lets you activate Close-up mode while rotating the lens to capture details. The equipment also includes the “Selfie Mirror” feature, a screen next to the lens that allows you to check the frame of the photo before it is saved.
With the advent of the Instax Mini 12, Fujifilm also offers free Instax UP! for smartphones. With this app, users will be able to digitally scan, import, edit and store their photos no matter what Instax print or camera they have.
Is it worth buying an instant camera?
Instant cameras were a hit in the 1980s and were back in vogue after the release of several digital devices. It is possible to find a wide variety of models in the Brazilian market, especially Polaroid and Fujifilm. The values are affordable, for example the Instax Mini 12 costs around R$500.
One factor to consider is movie prices. An Instax Mini 12 entry costs approximately BRL 4 per click; this is ten times more than paid for digital development. However, instant cameras give the impression of the current photograph, making a big difference for those looking for a different experience.
Moreover, the photographer does not have to print all the shots, he can only keep them digitally and use the print for more special moments.
