Researchers from natural materials drew attention to the unusual properties created on the basis of mushroom mycelium. The fact is that they can be used as an alternative to proven fabrics. In addition, they have the ability to self-repair when they get sick under the conditions in which they were grown.
Recent experiments have shown that a prototype material based on the leader’s mycelium “drags out” upcoming incidents. After evaluation, the strength of its restored sections is not inferior to the strength of undamaged fragments, although there were characteristic traces on the surface. The recovery process took about two days, but it is expected that this time can be reduced.
At that moment, it was all over that new things could be done by replacing materials that were not the same as before. Thanks to their storage in special tissues, it can be “revived” if necessary. Thanks to this, in the future there will be materials that can even replace the skin. They constitute an international organization for tailoring, car seating or furniture decoration. And, of course, damage in them can be detected quickly and easily.
