The adoption of such a law in the near future was announced by Vietnam’s Deputy Information Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam. This was done so that investigative authorities could more effectively detect and catch cybercriminals and those who spread harmful information to the country.
The law will affect both Vietnamese sources and foreign sources, including TikTok and YouTube. In addition, from May 15 to May 31, the TikTok social network will be carefully checked for the placement of poisonous and prohibited information.
