US-based international fast food chain Wendy’s has announced the opening of a pilot project in Columbus, Ohio to replace humans with AI order clerks. This is necessary to communicate with customers, from receiving orders from them and transferring them to performers. It is planned that the system will be able to unload employees and reduce the level of stress from conflicts with capricious customers, as well as provide an opportunity to find work on the quality of the food served.

Chatbot for Wendy’s was created in the Google database, it is built on the Vertex platform, which uses a large language model. The same system was used to open FreshAI, it is specialized – see the dialogues with customers. For this reason, I had a description of the items on the menu that was the most popular fast food video, including their slang names. AI can be limited to questions about orders and even follow the rules of the conversation as part of the execution of instructions for employees.

AI has already been trained in identifying violations at Wendy’s points, knows the rules of staff work and knows how to work with human workers. When training AI, it was taken into account that 80% of customers do not visit the restaurant in person, but order food through the window, visit those who drive up to automobile.
