A senior IT employee at international technology giant IBM is suing the company for refusing to give him a raise. The British Ian Clifford has been on leave due to an accident since 2008, he is part of the company’s staff, but he does not fulfill his immediate job duties.

As argument for the court, Clifford cited an increase in inflation, which affected his purchasing power, and a decline in real income. Clifford receives $67,254 a year from IBM, which is 75% of his full salary. According to Clifford, in 15 years IBM has never increased its fee.

Ian Clifford took sick leave in 2008 and is on the payroll of an IBM insurance plan.

In the UK, the average salary for a full-time employee is $41,000 per year, and the average salary for all employees is approximately $34,500 per year.
