Russian Post has started testing two models of electric trucks WOLV FC25 and EVM PRO in Nizhny Novgorod and St. Petersburg, the operator said.
Electric vehicles will be used on intra-urban routes. WOLV FC25 – in courier, EVM PRO – for transporting mail from sorting center and post offices to offices.
The Post plans to assess both the efficiency of freight transportation and the extent to which electric vehicles can reduce the harmful impact on the environment and reduce “noise pollution” in residential areas.
The load capacity of the WOLV FC25 is 800 kg, the speed is 85 km/h with a power reserve of 200 km. EVM PRO can carry up to 1 ton, max speed is 120km/h, range is 300km. WOLV FC25 and EVM PRO are equipped with fast charging, it takes 4-5 and 2 hours respectively.
Russian Post has also previously conducted pilot tests of various electric vehicles in Moscow and the Moscow region.
