According to Russian Standard, in the first quarter of 2023, Russians started using SBP 5 times more often than in the same period last year. In 2022, 93% of purchases on the basis of payment units and 95% on the basis of amount were made with debit cards. The situation changed in the first quarter of 2023: 71% and 74%, respectively. The average purchase price increased from 1361 rubles to 1382 rubles.
MTS-Bank also reported an increase in the popularity of SBP among users. According to the information obtained, after the departure of Apple Pay and Google Pay services from Russia, SBPs began to be used 10 times more often and the currency turnover increased by 6.5 times. The average purchase amount decreased from 3260 rubles to 2170 rubles.
