The study involved 5,000 volunteers with various sleep problems. They filled out a questionnaire about their sleep habits and also kept a sleep diary.

It turns out that one of the most common habits that exacerbates insomnia due to latent stress is controlling bedtime. Against this background, the use of sleeping pills is becoming more frequent, which does not always give the expected effect.

Therefore, the researchers proposed the main advice – to give up control of time. “One thing people can do is flip or cover their watch so they don’t have to look at it, throw away their smartwatches, put their phones aside. There isn’t a single place where time tracking would be particularly useful,” explained the study’s authors.
