According to DxOmark, the Pixel 7a took an impressive 2nd place in the High-End ranking between the Pixel 7 and Pixel 6. But in the global ranking, the phone took 27th place behind the iPhone 14. The Huawei P60 Pro took the lead.

During testing, the Pixel 7a showed strengths in handling natural colors and maintaining the correct white balance in photos. It also showed effective video stabilization. The device did an excellent job of controlling exposure in both stills and videos, and the bokeh mode provided accurate depth estimation. The ultra-wide-angle lens provided a wider field of view compared to other devices in its class.

However, the Pixel 7a fell short in some areas. Dxomark detected artifacts such as loss of detail in video clips, underexposure in complex portrait scenes, indoor and low-light noise, limited depth of field, uneven white balance in bright light and indoor video, and fusion effects in stills and videos.

Pixel 7a uses a 64MP main sensor, 13MP ultra-wide lens and a 13MP front camera.

If you are bothered by the cons of the device, keep in mind that it costs $499.
