It makes sense that Chinese brands, the main players in the 5G market, often become the heroes of the news. So, according to one of them, the first experimental 5G-A base station was opened in Beijing.
This station is located at the International Information Port in Changping District. 5G-A (or 5.5G) is a transitional stage between 5G and 6G.
According to Beijing Mobile, the new technology is superior to existing technology in many ways. For example, 5.5G will be faster than 5G in terms of speed, latency, scalability and power efficiency. So, for example, it will reach a peak speed of 10 Gbps.
Recall that earlier as part of MWC 23, a senior vice president of Huawei said that 6G is still in an early stage of research. And that means it’s clearly not worth the wait for an early release.
