OpenAI introduces the ChatGPT app for iPhone

OpenAI released ChatGPT app for iPhone; the corresponding release appeared on the company’s website. The chatbot’s mobile client completely copies the functionality and design of the site. The innovation was support for voice input, implemented through OpenAI speech recognition technology called Whisper.

As informed on Twitter by the company’s CTO, Mira Murati, an Android version is already in development. For now, ChatGPT for iPhone is only available in the US, but the chatbot app will roll out to the App Store in other countries in the coming weeks.

The press release emphasizes that users of the mobile app who purchase a subscription to ChatGPT Plus for $19.9 will have access to the company’s latest developments in the same way as those who interact with the chatbot through the site.
