The shortage of personnel at industrial enterprises in Russia has reached a record since 1996 and currently stands at 35%. The Yegor Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy conducted a study on the shortage of personnel at companies, writes RBC. The organization has been conducting such surveys since 1992.

According to Sergei Tsukhlo, head of the institute’s research laboratory, light industry companies are experiencing the greatest staff shortages. His representatives announced a shortage in Russia of specialized secondary institutions to train the specialists they need.

The shortage of personnel is one of the main factors that, in the current circumstances, slows down economic growth, said the expert.

The unemployment rate in Russia (according to Rosstat) in March reached the lowest level in Russia’s recent history of 3.5%.
