Instead of mechanical volume and power buttons, the device uses long touch buttons with tactile feedback. This approach was considered for the iPhone 15 but was not implemented in the final version.

The device was discovered by blogger AppleDemoYT, who shared a video of the prototype. There is no Apple logo on the back panel, instead there is a symbol that looks like intersecting circles – “Vesica Piscis”, as enthusiasts call it.

According to the author, this prototype was found in an electronics recycling facility and was probably used by Apple for field testing.

When the iPhone was opened, components belonging to the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 were found, as well as some unique parts not found in other models.

The buttons on the device are combined into a long block and have no physical separation. According to the blogger, the prototype was assembled in May 2021 and could be a trial version of the iPhone 14 Pro.
