The system will use robots moving through tunnels to deliver orders from Wendy’s kitchens to special “instant delivery portals” located near parking lots. When a customer arrives, they can confirm their online order via the “portal” speaker.
The autonomous robot will then navigate the tunnels and deliver the food directly to the customer’s parking lot.
The company plans to test the technology at one of its existing restaurants later this year. This initiative comes after a previous announcement by Wendy’s regarding the use of an AI chatbot during an order through the MacAuto equivalent.
