Since the beginning of the year, scooters accounted for 85% of sales in the electric transportation category, electric bikes accounted for 10%, and gyroscooters and unicycles accounted for another 5%, Pavel Zemskov, M.Video product category manager -The golden group, he told Kommersant.

TelecomDaily CEO Denis Kuskov believes that the demand for electric scooters may start to decline this season due to the introduction of traffic rules for scooter owners, after they start receiving the first fines.

  • At the end of March the electric scooter rental season began. For the month, the spending of Russians on rent exceeded 1.7 million rubles. This is double the figures for the same period in 2022.
  • Russians tend to rent electric scooters for short business trips rather than recreational rides. According to kickshare services, the trip takes an average of 15 to 20 minutes, and the proportion of leisure trips has decreased.
