Expanding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in its ecosystem, Microsoft also announced the news this Tuesday (23) for its online store. The Microsoft Store now features the AI Hub, a curated space to promote “the best AI experiences created by the developer community” and the company itself.
In the announcement, during the Microsoft Build 2023 event, the company wanted to make it clear that its online store “is not just a place to download an app or game, but should instead act as a resource to educate customers on how to download them.” they can be more productive, fulfill their tasks, and discover new content”.
The idea is to create a space dedicated to using AI-based applications that can be used together. Microsoft reports that AI Hub will be “coming soon” in the Windows store, and all content created will be “tested for safety, family protection, and device compatibility.”
What can AI Hub do?
According to the announcement, the new Microsoft Store tool will be able to summarize other Windows users’ comments about the store’s apps. With AI support, this summary should bring usage details along with feedback from the community itself.
The proposition is that the AI itself “reads” reviews about an app or game and provides a summary of what’s positive and negative when you go to download it again.
About apps with thousands of reviews, the company said the new feature, which will be available “soon”, will help save time filtering those reviews.
On the developer side, Partner Center will also get AI support in a preview. The idea is that the tool helps pick the best keywords so it’s more practical to search for apps.
This new feature will be based on “popular demand” and will also feature “select multiple categories per app” to reach more people.
Windows 10 App Backup to Windows 11
Another feature announced today focuses on Windows Backup and Restore, which works between old and new devices when it’s time to switch, for users upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
With the novelty, when replacing a computer (whether in Windows 10 or Windows 11), all applications will be restored, including the location of the icons, including the Start menu and the taskbar.
This new feature is available starting today, but is only available to Windows Insiders test program users. It supports PWAs and Win32 applications.
Microsoft Store and Bing Ads
Starting in June, Microsoft Store ads will be available in Bing search results in addition to the store’s own results. These ads must be created in Microsoft Advertising.
Ads that also support video ad formats promise more display reach and higher traffic for advertisers. The innovation should also be expanded starting next month, but more than 150 countries in addition to the USA.
