A group of students and graduates of the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) has developed a medical application “Tea” that will help diagnose Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases and improve their treatment. The application allows you to monitor changes in the patient’s condition, such as a change in the nature of hand tremors. To do this, the user goes through tests that include surveys, video testing, use of accelerometer and phone sensor. The app makes recommendations based on test results.
Several government medical institutions have already taken an interest in the development and offered their ideas to improve the functionality of the application. The creators of the app have already received a patent for their development and plan to release the beta version in January. They also plan to upload the app to popular app stores, including RuStore.
Denis Mitin, a graduate of the Moscow Aviation Institute, a member of the app development team, said the app’s purpose was not to replace doctors and diagnose. It is intended to be a physician’s assistant and to help the user pay attention to certain changes in his condition.
Tea application is expected to be an important tool in the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, helping patients monitor their condition and get necessary advice.
