Rusatom – Additive Technologies introduced the largest 3D printer in Russia using direct laser enlargement technology.

Rosatom and St. Developed by a department of St. Petersburg Marine Technical University, the facility can produce products up to 2.2 meters in diameter and 1 meter in height, with a capacity of up to 2.4 kilograms per hour. Maximum efficiency is achieved when using powder materials from nickel alloys and steel, but a 3D printer can also produce composite materials from a powder mixture.

The machine is equipped with two six-axis industrial robots and a positioner with a payload of up to eight tons. The developers note that its implementation will reduce the cost of metal products for the nuclear industry.
