Businessman and billionaire with Russian roots Pavel Durov rents a villa in the United Arab Emirates worth about $1 million a year. The American Forbes writes about it.
The Telegram founder lives in a house in Dubai’s prestigious Jumeirah Islands district, sources told the publication. In 2020, Durov published a text in which he called for abandoning excessive consumption, which, according to him, leads to the depletion of the planet’s resources.
The billionaire stated that “big corporations use marketing to make us think that the solution to all our problems is to buy more of their products. The true solution is usually the opposite: it is to consume less, not more”.
Durov also urged society to fight for creation and admitted that hundreds of millions in his account never pleased the businessman.
According to Forbes’ interlocutors, Durov is located in a villa with an area of 1.4 thousand square meters. m., and the rental price exceeds $83,300 per month. The house, the sources add, has five bedrooms. This is one of the most expensive houses in the prestigious area.
After the publication of the publication, the publication “Durov’s Code” turned to its source, close to Telegram, who denied the information about the transfer of the businessman to expensive housing. According to him, the Forbes article became “part of the promotional activity of the Jumeirah Islands.”
Pavel Durov moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2017, and in 2022 he received citizenship of this country. The Russian-born businessman also holds a passport from France and Saint Kitts and Nevis. At the beginning of the year, Durov was recognized by Arabian Business as the most influential person in Dubai.
