One of the first things you can do is check for updates to the display drivers. Open the start menu and type Device Manager (or press Windows key + X to open quick menu; Device Manager chooses).

You can now check for updates in two ways: automatically or via Windows Update. Try both, especially if you haven’t had any luck after trying one. You can also reinstall the drivers in this menu, that might help too.

If the problem persists, you can also check if there is a generic update for Windows. If not, reverting to a previous version of Windows may help.
