Do you expect to have in your hands iphone 15 pro or the iPhone 15 Pro Max, when will the new phones come out in the fall? Well, you might have to wait a long time.

Apple is experiencing manufacturing issues caused by a new manufacturing process designed to drastically reduce the bezel around the screen, according to a report in The Information on Thursday.

Citing two people with “direct knowledge” of the situation, the report claims that Pro versions of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 could experience supply constraints due to assembly issues when the phone launches just a few months later. “The problem is more pronounced with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, suggesting that the shortage of this model will be more severe than the iPhone 15 Pro,” the report says.

iPhone maker Foxconn is believed to have discovered the problem when it began a process known as “risk escalation,” which involves producing hundreds of thousands of units to test how reliably a product can be assembled without any defects.

One of The Information’s sources said the displays made by LG have failed these reliability tests and there are reportedly problems with the process that fuses the display into the metal case. Apple is apparently working on tweaking LG’s display design to fix this issue.

Notably, Samsung’s Apple displays are not believed to be experiencing the same problem, allowing the tech giant to produce a large number of devices in time for the phone’s launch in the fall.

Reducing the size of the bezel should give the phone a slightly larger screen than the 6.1-inch screen on the iPhone 14 Pro and the 6.7-inch screen on the iPhone 14 Pro Max. This will be one of the features that sets it apart from the cheaper iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, whose bezels are expected to remain the same.
