Sending text messages from a computer

This combination allows users to send and receive text messages on Windows 10 and 11, receive Android notifications in the Notification Center, and access images stored on the phone.

How to send text messages through iMessage (iOS, iPadOS, MacOS)

This method usually requires an Apple device with a cellular connection. However, since it also uses the Apple iMessage format, users may miss out on cellular service when sending a message to another Apple device.

iPhone supports two types of messages. Users can send iMessages over the Internet via Wi-Fi or mobile data, which are circled in blue and can only be received on Apple devices.

iPhones also send standard SMS and MMS messages using your carrier’s regular wireless plan, which are received by third-party devices and highlighted with green circles.

This is an important difference because Apple device owners without a cellular connection or associated phone number can send messages to other Apple device owners. All they need is an Apple ID.

Step 1: make sure your iPhone is registered with your Apple ID.

Step 6: on Mac open Programs Messages. Press Messages in the menu bar and then preferences. When the pop-up appears, click the tab iMessage and sign in with the same Apple ID.

Step 7: take your iPhone and go back to Messages V Programs Settings. Once there, tap Forward a text message. This is for working with SMS and MMS messages.

Each time the device is turned on, you must enter a six-digit confirmation number on the iPhone. This confirms that you want to send and receive SMS and MMS messages on your Apple device. Depending on your settings, you may or may not need to enter a verification number.

Once you’ve set it up, you can send text messages by clicking the pencil icon above your contact list, specifying recipients, and typing your message as you normally would. Please note that a standard text message can be up to 160 characters long. If you go too far, they may charge you for messages as if they were double.

Remember that iMessages are “free” when devices are connected to Wi-Fi. The downside is that your monthly mobile data is deducted when using 4G or 5G, so make sure you’re connected to your local wireless network. Standard SMS and MMS messages are sent through your mobile operator.

How to send text messages via Android Messages (PC and Android)

Android Messages allows Android phone owners to send text messages directly from the web interface, no matter what device they use. It works on desktop, laptop or even iOS devices.

However, you need to set Android Messages as the default app on your phone, so make sure you do that before you start.

Step 1: Go to the Android messaging home page.

Step 2: Open the Android Messages app on your phone.
