Honor, now independent of Huawei, has announced its new line of flagship smartphones in the Asian market: Honor 70. This new family consists of three very similar models in terms of design and screen-related features, but with significant differences in performance and battery, allowing models to be offered in different price ranges. Thus, the new series consists of a medium and high range variant; Honor 70, another high-end one; Honor 70 Pro and another that borders on the premium range; model 70 Pro+.

All three models of the Honor 70 series have almost the same appearance. In fact, they follow the same design line as their predecessors: Honor 60. The Asian company keeps its commitment to bright and vibrant colors on the back cover and this dual camera module located on the side of the back panel. The front also includes double curvature at the edges and a selfie camera at the top. And all this with aluminum frames, which are significantly narrower on the sides, since the glass on the back is also curved.

The Honor 70, Honor 70 Pro, and Honor 70 Pro+ also have a very similar screen configuration except for the size, as the Honor 70’s panel is 6.62 inches while the Pro and Pro+ versions have a 6.78-inch screen. In all three cases with Full HD+ resolution and refresh rate 120Hz. The panel also has a built-in fingerprint scanner.

Honor 70: MediaTek processors and 100W fast charging

In the area of performance, we are already starting to see important differences, even though the three models still share common characteristics, such as the amount of RAM or storage, which in all three cases 8 or 12 GB and 256 or 512 GB respectively.

However, the cheapest model is less powerful than the rest of the models as it includes the Snapdragon 778G+ SoC. The 70 Pro version, for its part, is equipped with the Dimensity 8000 processor from the Asian manufacturer MediaTek, which competes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. On the other hand, the Honor 70 Pro + mounts MediaTek Dimension 9000; Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 competitor.

The same battery for Honor 70 Pro and 70 Pro+, 4500 mAh and fast charging up to 100W, which allows you to reach 100% in just 30 minutes. On the other hand, the most basic model has a 4800mAh battery and 66W fast charging. In any case, and given that the screen size of the base version is smaller than the rest of the options, it is likely that the battery life will be almost the same.

Enough with three cameras

Honor seems to think that three cameras are enough to compete in photography with other high-end smartphones, and have chosen this configuration in all three models. There are, yes, some differences compared to the most economical option.

In particular, Honor 70, 70 Pro and Pro + have Main camera 54 MP with f/1.9 aperture. They also include 50MP ultra wide camera and f/2.2 aperture. A camera that can also take macro photos. The third sensor, in the case of Pro and Pro+ models, is 8 megapixel telephoto lens the ability to take pictures with a 3x zoom. Honor 70 does without this last lens to bet on 2 megapixel bokeh camera permissions.

The selfie camera is also inferior to the base model: 32 megapixels versus 50 megapixels in the two more expensive versions.
