According to the authors of the Hardware Unboxed channel, 12th generation Alder Lake processors such as the Core i9-12900K were especially affected and performance dropped by 10%.
Journalists noted that they did not make any changes to the BIOS or firmware updates. Rolling back to the previous version of Windows 11 23H2 returns performance to its previous level, which indicates a problem with the new system update.
Update number 24H2 is already known for many bugs: from problems with SSD and slow data transfer via SMB to disappearance of the cursor and blue screens of death in some games.
