Google finally announced the release date of the expected pixel 8 and its derivatives, in addition to the presentation of the Pixel Watch 2.
The event will take place on October 4 and will be held in New York. The Made by Google event and keynote will take place at 10am ET.
Very large leak
But before the announcement of the official release date of the Pixel 8 Pro on August 30, there was a big leak.
Android leaker Mishaal Rahman posted an image that was posted on Google’s subscriptions and services page for some reason. Pictured is a china-colored Pixel 8 phone. The leak was originally discovered on the Android Setting Twitter account.
The alt text on the image reads: “A person receives a call on a Pixel 8 Pro phone in China.” The image has now been removed from the page. Rahman suggested that it could have been a simple mistake, with a working Google picking the wrong resource from the media gallery.
According to Android Authority leaks, these will include a 50MP wide-angle telephoto lens, a 48MP telephoto lens, and a 64MP ultra-wide-angle lens. This latest sensor is a major upgrade from the 12MP Sony IMX7 386 Pro to 12MP. The leak also notes that these sensors should support 8K video at 30fps, as well as a host of other HDR and software updates.
